HD/SDR PERFORMANCE
The TV set does a good job of upscaling HD images for an ultra HS display. The upscaling works brilliantly fast while limiting blur and providing a well-processed image which enhances HD images.
There are a few picture settings to choose from with the Standard setting being turned on by default while Natural and dynamic enhance the processing to give out a more vivid picture. The contrast matches that of Samsung RU7300 that is good for producing deep dark scenes.
4K/HDR PERFORMANCE
You will receive a wonderfully crisp 4k picture with the Samsung RU7100 which provides sharp and detailed images without any slight distortion being registered.
The screen is HDR-ready meaning it can play content in HDR10 format and have a wider color gamut with greater levels of contrast as compared to Standard Dynamic Range content. Colors are richer when displaying HDR content with the impressive catch being that the level of HDR is still able to look managed and balanced.
